So Proud

Of

Ann’s Award

Congratulations to Ann for receiving an M.B.E. in the New Years Honours List

Ann received a letter from the Prime Ministers office in November. “I remember reading the letter several times before it finally sunk in that I had been nominated for an award. After realisation that apart from the Queens seal of approval I would be in fact named in the Queens New Years Honours List, was very exciting and at that point I wanted to tell everyone. The letter I received stated that it had to be kept secret until the press were informed and that would be some time at the end of December that I would hear from them.

Sure enough the press rang me on the 27th December and congratulated me on the award, I then knew it was defiantly going to happen.

At that point I was able to tell the staff, it was a complete shock to have been nominated but such an honour to be nominated by dedicated carers. We have been looking after the wife’s of two of these carers for many years.

I would like to thank those of you who sent letters of recommendation and the team at Woodley Age Concern for their support and commitment to me for  over several years, also a big thank you to Jenny the (chair of Woodley Age Concern) and the management committee who have supported and encouraged me with all the new projects and services that we have developed”.
