Welcome to Age Concern Woodley
 where care and carers come  first

Age Concern Woodley is a Charity aiming  to match current needs of people over 50, older people who want to remain in  their local community, carers, and people with dementia. It provides, and is developing new services in partnership with others, including the following:

Activities in the community of interest to the over  50's

  • Care services in the community to support the various needs of older people including the lonely and isolated.
  • Day care for older people who need care and support ("Brightside")
  •  *Day care for people  with Dementia ("Sunnyside")
  •  *Carer support (advice and  information)
  •  *Weekend day-care for people with Dementia  ("Sunrise")
  •  *Short breaks for carers and overnight care for people with Dementia
  • Aunty Joyce's Charity Shop (some real low cost bargains  including items of furniture)

Fun, stimulating activities, friendship, sensitivity to individual need, support, access to other support services,  partnership with others, commitment to high quality care are characteristics of the services provided by Age Concern Woodley.

Woodley Age Concern comprises:

 

*Services to support carers and people with dementia are available to those living in the area of Wokingham  District. We are planning to extend day care for people with dementia so that  service is available seven days a week at the "Sunnyside" unit located at  Woodley Age Concern Day Centre. We aim to provide a high quality service in  which carers have confidence.
